Colt Dragoon Revolvers

Presented by the NRA National Firearms Museum

Approximately 10,500 Third Model Dragoons were made at Hartford from 1851 to 1861. Dragoons were the gun to have during the Gold Rush era. They were so popular out west, in fact, that you could buy one on the east coast for $20, head west and — if you didn’t strike gold in California — you could sell it for $200.
These Colt Third Dragoons can be seen at the NRA National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, Virginia.
