Pedersen Device

This Model 1903 rifle was modified to accept the Top-Secret "Automatic Bolt Model of 1918, Mark I," more popularly known as the "Pedersen Device." It was kept in a top-secret status until 1936, after the adoption of the semi-automatic M1 Garand of the United States Army. The Pedersen Device can be seen at the NRA National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, Virginia.
