2001 NRA Members' Meeting: Jim Baker

Kansas City, MO

Jim Baker applauds NRA members for their impact on the 2000 elections. The executive director of the Institute for Legislative Action explains that the presidential election the previous year was a crossroads for Second Amendment rights. Had Al Gore been elected to serve up four more years of relentless attacks on gun owners, the right to keep and bear arms might have fallen in the 21st century. Baker thus congratulates NRA members for putting President G.W. Bush (and inadvertently Attorney General John Ashcroft) in office.
