James P. Carter Given Expanded Management Responsibility
I am pleased to announce the promotion of James P. Carter to the position of Senior Executive Director of Advancement and Business Integration for the National Rifle Association of America (NRA).
In this expanded role, James will continue to serve as Executive Director of Advancement, while also assuming oversight of the Membership Division. As such, James will now be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of NRA membership and advancement operations, including their respective budgets. His proven leadership, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to our mission make him uniquely suited to bring these critical areas together under unified management. Derek Robinson will continue as Executive Director of Membership and report to James Carter.
In this expanded assignment, James will also work closely with the Executive Vice President and CEO on special projects and strategic initiatives. His expanded portfolio reflects our intent to sharpen our organizational focus, streamline operations, and drive results during this pivotal moment in our history.
The NRA is emerging from one of the most challenging periods since its founding. We are engaged in the vital work of rebuilding, refocusing, and relaunching the NRA as the nation’s premier defender of the Second Amendment and the American way of life. James’s appointment is a key part of that transformation.
The future of the NRA is bright. Through the renewed commitment of our staff, members, industry partners, and generous donors, we are confident we can grow our membership, expand our programs and services, and ultimately deliver a stronger, more unified NRA experience for everyone who stands with us.
Please join me in congratulating James P. Carter on this well-deserved promotion and in supporting him as he takes on these critical responsibilities in service of our shared mission.
